MICHAEL SEIFERT

Michael Seifert is a multi-platinum award winning composer, producer, arranger, and audio engineer based in Cleveland, Ohio and the owner/operator of Suma Recording. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals, and various household appliances) he has a keen ability for achieving tonal balance where it’s best achieved: at its source. Literally raised in a recording studio back when tape and large format analog consoles were still king, Michael is equally comfortable working in both analog and digital formats and often pursues a hybrid approach when recording and mixing projects.

 

Extremely versatile, Michael’s credits include work in a wide range of styles. He has had the privilege of working for and/or with bands and artists including Paul Simon, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Tori Amos, Fountains of Wayne, Regina Spektor, Betty Buckley, Dominick Farinacci, Lifehouse, Colbie Caillat, Gerald Levert, Bokanté, Neil Zaza, Too Short, 8 Ball, Pimp C (UGK), Chuck Mosley (Faith No More), Guided by Voices, Cobra Verde, Snarky Puppy, J. Mascis, The Sublets, Kate Voegele, Robert Lockwood Jr., Mr. Gnome, Sweet Apple, Sad Planets, Ernie Krivda, Death of Samantha, and countless others.

 

In addition to his work with bands and artists, Michael has scored numerous films including composing, arranging, recording, and production work on The Outsiders : The Complete Novel, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (Special Edition), Heart of Darkness, and The Godfather trilogy FFC restoration special edition for Francis Ford Coppola as well as the award-winning documentary Romeo is Bleeding (Jason Zeldes, Russell Simmons.) He has also composed, produced, and recorded original music and score for TV shows, including the Netflix original series Buddy Thunderstruck and Care Bears: Unlock the Magic and provided original music and score for Apple Music, Chipotle, Spotify, Pepsi, PlayStation, Xbox, Fox, CBS, MTV, American Greetings, Sports Illustrated, Reebok, Cleveland International Film Festival, SXSW, Lincoln Electric, Target, Samsung, Microsoft, University Hospitals, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, Fazoli’s Italian Restaurant, and The Super Bowl among others. Working in the realm of museum exhibits, Michael has produced and engineered surround sound mixes for The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and recently completed original scores for Cityneon’s Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs and Machu Picchu and the Spirit of the Condor VR experiences (both currently on a global tour,) the latter of which won the 2022 Lumiere™ Award for “Best Use of VR.”
